Captain John Earle
CAPTAIN/OWNER
John shifted into oil spill response, leading training and preparedness efforts for SERVS and offshore Arctic operations in both the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas. He holds a USCG Master License with towing endorsements, and certifications in cold water survival, CPR, AED, First Aid, HAZWOPER, and FEMA incident command.
Meticulous when it comes to safety and comfort, John is deeply committed to curating the best possible experience for every guest. He’s spent hundreds of hours personally tailoring the Samantha J—Tundra’s new state-of-the-art adventure yacht—to ensure every detail supports both luxury and adventure. But beyond the logistics, what drives him most is showing people the wonders of Alaska. He loves to power down the engine when a pod of whales appears, letting guests take in the quiet awe of the moment. And while he's got decades of maritime experience, John is also known for his fun-loving spirit, great taste in music, and willingness to DJ to your group’s vibe. With John at the helm, you’re in the best of hands—and in for an unforgettable journey.

LINNEA ONUSHCO
GUIDE + DECKHAND
Born and raised in Montana, she developed a lifelong passion for adventure and the outdoors while exploring the mountains and rivers of the American West. From an early age, she learned self-reliance, leadership, and a deep appreciation for wild places through countless days spent camping, paddling, and exploring.
An experienced paddler, Linnea has rowed rafts, drift boats, and kayaks through whitewater and swift water across Montana, Idaho, Utah, and Alaska. At age 14, she completed an 80-mile solo inflatable kayak expedition on the Main Salmon River, reflecting her adventurous spirit and determination.
Linnea has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sustainability and is a certified Wilderness First Responder. She combines her knowledge of natural systems with a strong commitment to safety, stewardship, and creating meaningful outdoor experiences. In the winter, she works as a ski instructor, and year-round she enjoys exploring new places and sharing her enthusiasm for adventure with others. Her positive energy, leadership, and passion for the outdoors make her a valued guide both on and off the water.

ANNA THEROUX
GUIDE + DECKHAND
Born and raised in Alaska, Anna Theroux developed a love for the outdoors at an early age while exploring the state's mountains, rivers, and coastlines. From backpacking and salmon fishing to skiing at Alyeska Resort, adventure has always been a central part of her life.
While studying music at the University of Alaska Anchorage, Anna spent her summers kayak guiding in Prince William Sound, gaining extensive knowledge of the region through countless days on the water, including solo expeditions around Perry and Knight Islands. She later worked with Whittier water taxi companies, building valuable maritime and deck crew experience.
Most recently, Anna worked in the events department at Alyeska Resort, where she strengthened her hospitality and guest service skills. Today, she combines her guiding, maritime, and hospitality experience to create memorable adventures, and is excited to share the beauty, wildlife, and wonder of Prince William Sound with guests aboard the Samantha J.
