This trip is highlyrecommended for guests with time available to explore further out into Prince William Sound. This excursion includes an overnight stay in the protected Harriman Fjord. Five magnificent glaciers flow into this incredible fjord with mountains rising up to 10,000 feet. Look carefully and you might see harbor seals and their young hitch-hiking a ride atop icebergs, sea lions, orcas and whales. Scan the cliffs surrounding these fjords for dramatic waterfalls, bald eagles, puffins, dall sheep, mountain goats and if you are lucky, you may even spot a bear fishing onshore.
Kayaking and stand up paddle boarding available upon request. The skiff is available for trips to shore to enjoy a stroll along black sand beaches. Return to the F/V Tundra for a gourmet dinner and relax for the evening. Awake the next morning in the misty bay surrounded by immense beauty and the peaceful sounds of nature.
Before returning to Whittier, we will explore Esther Passage; Esther Island is home to one of the largest salmon hatcheries in North America. A tour of the hatchery will be available along with viewing salmon filled streams where spotting bald eagles & bears is always an opportunity.
